The annealing processes
Internal tensions in components as a result of cold forming, structural Transformation, thermal loads or metal-cutting processes can be reduced with no significant changes in the structure and mechanical properties.
Soft annealing is an annealing process at a temperature just below the lower transformation point with subsequent slow cooling in order to achieve components with a soft condition.
Solution annealing is used primarily with austenitic steels, in order to dissolve alloy elements homogeneously in the matrix and to achieve even, homogeneous structures and material properties. It is also used to eliminate tensions resulting from cold hardening.
Spheroidizing is a special type of soft annealing that aims to achieve a structure with very good machining properties. This treatment is very important for subsequent cold forming, for example.d material properties. It is also used to eliminate tensions resulting from cold hardening.
Coarse-grained and uneven structures of cast, welded and hot formed steels are transformed into new, homogeneous and fine structures.
